Cogs in the Piracy Machine

The title of the post is a snip from today’s press conference by MPAA antipiracy chief John Malcolm, announcing industry lawsuits targeting BitTorrent and eDonkey. Xeni Jardin at BoingBoing has the coverage.

I don’t have any analysis. (Seriously, so far as I know, being a cog in the piracy machine is not enough to justify secondary liability for copyright infringement.) I just like the phrase.
Consider the possible slogans. On the one hand, try: “Are you now, or have you ever been, a cog in the piracy machine?” And on the other: “Hug a cog in the piracy machine today.”
