I was fortunate to be in the audience last week for the dinner that kicked off this tribute to William Sloane Coffin, former Yale chaplain, tireless advocate for social justice, and partial inspiration for the Rev. Scott Sloan, “the rapping young priest who can talk to the young.” Bill Coffin was there and concluded the evening with a typically impassioned speech. Where’s the rest of the Religious Left?
