The small plane that scared DC yesterday took off from an airport in Smoketown, PA. Smoketown is otherwise best known recently as the site of a protest by the Smoketown Six, a group of activists who were arrested last year while protesting the war in Iraq. Specifially, they tried to re-create the “pyramid” of Abu Ghraib prisoners as an anti-war protest during a visit to the area by President Bush. Local police picked them up. The charges were later dropped.
