New comments on an old post

There is an interesting discussion in the comments of David’s post, Tech Businesses Recognize the Power of a Knowledge Commons. There are only a few comments, but each is quite lengthy, so I thought I’d let visitors know.

As a blogging novice, I wonder whether bloggers do this regularly-that is, draw attention to comments in a previous post because of the quality and/or length of the comments; in this case, the comments themselves are more or less equivalent to individual blog posts. My suspicion is that the conversation between David and Geoffrey Manne would be lost or remain essentially private because visitors would not scroll down and check “old” posts for new comments. Am I right?
