Drexel Law?

Posted by Mike Madison · January 23rd, 2006 · 2 Comments

I’ve been enjoying Dan Filler’s posts over at Concurring Opinions and read today, in his post on libraries, that he’s headed for the faculty at the soon-to-open Drexel University law school in Philadelphia.

Which raises an interesting question. My sense — an intuition, really — is that most of the law schools in the Commonwealth haven’t taken Drexel very seriously so far. In faculty hiring, Drexel may be mostly flying under the radar. Hiring Dan, though, shows that the school is serious about being serious right out of the box. I’ve heard directly of one other hire, at the entry level. Philly is Rocky’s home town. Is Drexel going to be a contender?

I think it shows they’re ruthless and will stop at nothing. Wait, who are we talking about again?
