Google Trends and IP Searches

Google sez: Pittsburgh ranks unusually high in the list of cities where “copyright law” searches come from. (Ann Bartow, who pointed this out, gives me a shout out. Hey, thanks, Ann!)

But seriously: Does the fact that Pittsburgh ranks at #8 on a list of American cities Googling “copyright law” mean anything at all? Pittsburgh isn’t in the top 10 for “patent law” or “trademark law”. It’s number 8, again, for “internet law.”

Does this mean that Pittsburghers know more about copyright and the internet than they do about patent and trademark? Or less? Does it mean that Pittsburghers are more curious about copyright and internet law than they are about patents and trademarks? Or what?
