Given that the Twilight sequel, New Moon, opens this week, I just have to blog about something Twilight-related. I’ve been writing lately about celebrity privacy rights, and the right of publicity – and considering the extent to which celebrities should be legally protected against paparazzi intrusions. Of course, there are other ways for them to fight back. In the continuing pop media storm about whether two of the Twilight stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, are a real life “item”, various magazines recently published a photo of the two holding hands in an airport in France. In response, one of their co-stars (Peter Facinelli) twittered: “Co-stars caught holding hands. Guess this picture proves everything.” The link accompanying this caption, took readers to a picture of Facinelli himself holding hands with male co-star, Kellan Lutz, while walking through an airport. Full story and picture here. A nice way to deal with the unbridled press perhaps – or maybe just a cry for additional publicity?
