Larry Lessig became a character on The West Wing in part because a former law student, who works on the show, took the advice that many of us give: Don’t use law firm life as an automatic career default. As Larry writes, “[S]ome law students escape the trap that the top law schools have created — the path to a tedious and unrewarding practice that few seem capable of avoiding.”
