Cyber Civil Rights: New Challenges for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties in our Networked Age
A Symposium Presented by the Denver University Law Review
Friday, Nov. 20, 2009
9:00 am – 4:30 pm
How do our rights translate online? What are the boundaries of free speech and harassment on blogs and discussion boards? Do we forgo all expectations of privacy when we participate in Web 2.0? Should governments attempt to regulate the Internet, and if so, how?
On Friday, November 20, the Denver University Law Review will host a one-day symposium to address these and other questions raised in our increasingly electronic world. The event, entitled Cyber Civil Rights: New Challenges for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties in our Networked Age, will feature renowned academics and practitioners from across the country. The panelists will address the important issues surrounding cyber harassment, cyber civil rights, and the civil liberties, privacy, security, and regulatory issues implicated by the development of a cyber civil rights agenda.
This CLE-certified event (7 credits) is open to all practitioners and members of the public. Tuition for practicing attorneys is $199 before November 13th, and $249 thereafter (lunch and parking included). All proceeds benefit the Denver University Law Review.
