International IP at Arizona State

ASU Conference on the International Aspects of IP Law

The Center for Law, Science & Innovation and the Center for Law and Global Affairs at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, together with the American Society of International Law and the International Law Association (American Branch), is sponsoring this conference to promote dialogue and understanding about the reciprocal influence of intellectual property law on international relations and international law on the interpretation, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Speakers are attending from all over the world, including Brazil, Canada, England, Germany, India, Japan, Russia and Switzerland. Topics to be discussed by the panels include:

■intellectual property in the world trading system
■determinations of liability and the challenge of cross-border enforcement
■the role of bilateral, plurilateral and multilateral intellectual property law treaties
■intellectual property protection over the Internet
■the role of intellectual property in promoting development and protecting cultural knowledge.
Academics, practitioners, and students are encouraged to attend, and up to five hours of Arizona CLE is available.
