Here’s my suggestion for a new info feature for Amazon:
When you take me to the page for a book (or DVD or whatever), tell me the Purchase Circles in which the book is in the top 5 (or top 10). This would be a potentially interesting complement to the “people who looked at this book also looked at that book” info.

I’m delighted to note that the first book on the University of Pittsburgh’s “purchase circle” is Neal Stephenson’s Quicksilver.
Quicksilver is #3 on the list for Apple Computer.
And am I the only one who is sad that Google is not on the company list?
Okay … Quicksilver is also #3 at IEEE.
