Does Paramount Own Klingon?

Over at Language Log, that question (among others) emerges in this interesting post on the intersection of intellectual property rights and language.  The post is a follow-on to this one, which notes the current claim by the Chilean Mapuche Indians against Microsoft.

The Klingon Translator reports that there is no Klingon equivalent to the English word “copyright” nor for the phrase “intellectual property.”

The Translator also reports that the Klingon equivalent of my opinion on question posed in the post title is:  ghobe’.
