Containers, Content, and Such

Is it possible to have a sensible conversation about the future of “containers” for creativity (such as books) and the “content” that goes in them without talking about the role of copyright and related law?

Perhaps.  I’m not often a fan of simply posting links to others’ writing, but I will make an exception here:

Read through this very interesting dialogue between Nicholas Carr and Clay Shirky on the future of books, e-books, and related things, with some commentary by Kevin Kelly and additional thoughtful readers.

All of that is responding to this New Year’s Day post by Carr.
